SPEEDING LEADS TO BREACH AND DRUG CHARGE

(GUELPH-ERMAOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) On January 22, 2017 at approximately 10:18 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the female driver of a 2008 Nissan that was travelling northbound on Highway 6 near Marden Road in Guelph-Eramosa Township for a Highway Traffic Act violation.

Investigation revealed that the driver was bound by a Recognizance with conditions not to be in Wellington County and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. She was arrested and searched and found to be in possession of Mariana.

30-year-old Brooke Lee BEACOCK of Grey Highlands has been charged with Possession of Marijuana Under 30 Grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Fail to Comply with Recognizance and Breach of Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code as well as Speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. She is scheduled to appear in Bail Court to answer to the charges.

MARIJUANA SEIZED AT R.I.D.E. CHECK

(GUELPH-ERMAOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) On January 22, 2017 at approximately 8:25 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks at Jones Baseline and Eastview Road in Guelph-Eramosa Township.

Officers investigated the two male occupants of a red Nissan that entered into the checkpoint. Officers immediately detected the odour of fresh marijuana inside the vehicle. When asked about it the passenger surrendered a zip lock baggy containing suspected marijuana.

31-year-old Blaine MURRAY of Acton has been charged with Possession of Marijuana Over 30 Grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on March 10, 2017 to answer to the charges.

IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED IN EARLY MORNING FOG

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) On January 20, 2017 at approximately 6:19 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding a 2008 Ford Mustang that was stopped in the live lane on Wellington Road 50 near the Seventh Line in Guelph-Eramosa Township. The complainant advised that the driver appeared to be sleeping behind the wheel and was concerned due to the fog in the area at the time and that it was dark.

Police located the vehicle and sleeping driver and while speaking with him detected an odour of alcohol on his breath and noted other physical signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a nearby Operation Centre for further testing.

27-year-old Justin BEAL of Guelph-Eramosa Township has been charged with Care or Control Impaired and Care or Control Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on February 7, 2017 to answer to his charges.

His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

DRINKING AND DRIVING

(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) On January 21, 2017 at approximately 11:10 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Gore Road near Townline Road in Puslinch Township.

A 2014 Ford entered the checkpoint and while officers were speaking with the driver an odour of alcohol was detected on her breath. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The female driver was placed under arrest and was transported to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

57-year-old Beverlee BOETTGER of Cambridge has been charged with Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on March 7, 2017.

Her driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) On January 25, 2017 at approximately 7:56 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a 2005 Mazda that was traveling southbound on Wellington Road 86 south of Wellington Road 30 in Guelph-Eramosa Township.

While speaking with the male driver, officer noted possible signs of impairment. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

25-year-old Grant HUDSON of St. Catherines has been charged with Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on February 21, 2017 to answer to the charge. His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

THEFT OF RIMS AND TIRES

(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) On January 24, 2017 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report that 2 BMW "M" series rims and tires were stolen overnight from Aberfoyle Truck and Lube Centre from a fenced compound in Puslinch Township.

Unknown suspects cut through the fence to gain access and left the vehicle on cinder blocks.
