OPP INVESTIGATING AFTER MALE INJURED; FALLING FROM VEHICLE

(TOWSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA, ON) - May 2, 2017 at approximately 11:40 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Guelph/Eramosa Fire Department responded to report of a male being injured on Highway 7, west of Guelph.

Multiple witnesses advised that the male had been holding onto the side of an unidentified black Ford Escape SUV with running-boards and roof-rack. The male was injured and was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigation revealed that the injured male was in possession of a quantity of illicit drugs. 33-year-old Brian Jonathon ALLEN of Kitchener has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking schedule 1 - Crystal Methamphetamine, Possession of Schedule 1 - Cocaine, Possession of Schedule 2 - Cannabis Marijuana under 30g, and Possession of a Schedule 1 - Hydromorphone contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He has also been charged with Failing to Comply with a Recognizance of a Justice set out on March 31, 2017 in the City of Stratford.

Police are still looking to identify the driver and the vehicle involved in this incident.

DRIVER FACING MULTIPLE CHARGES AFTER TRAFFIC COMPLAINT

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) - On May 5, 2017 at approximately 8:40 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver at 292 Brock Rd South, Township of Puslinch.

Police attended and located the motor vehicle and found the driver asleep in the driver's seat. Police woke the driver and while speaking with him believed he may be impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP detachment for testing.

32-year-old Braien SUBRAMANIAM of Milton has been charged with Impaired Driving, Care or Control While Ability Impaired and Refuse to Provide a Sample contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on June 2, 2017. His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

DRINKING AND DRIVING

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) - On April 29, 2017 at approximately 1:00 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E program on Highway 7 at the Woolwich-Guelph Townline, Guelph-Eramosa Township.

A 2016 GMC Sierra entered the R.I.D.E. program and officers believed the male driver had consumed alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

59-year-old Elmo RUTNIK of Elora has been charged with Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on May 19, 2017. His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
