MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN WORKPLACE ACCIDENT

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) - On Friday July 28, 2017 at approximately 8:00 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious workplace injury at Kerr Crescent, Aberfoyle. Initial reports indicated that a 48-year-old male had sustained serious trauma to his hand in a workplace accident.

OPP as well as Guelph-Wellington Paramedics Services attended and treated the man. He was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries and then airlifted to a trauma centre.

The Ministry of Labour (MOL) is investigating.

NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES IN HIGHWAY 7 CRASH

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA, ON) - On Sunday July 30, 2017 at approximately 8:30 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Highway 7 and Wellington Road 29, west of Rockwood.

Initial reports indicated that a southbound vehicle failed to stop for a red light and collided with an east bound vehicle. The driver of the east bound vehicle had sustained serious injuries.

OPP as well as Guelph/Eramosa Fire Department and Guelph-Wellington Paramedics Services attended and treated occupants with varying degrees of injuries. The driver of the east bound vehicle and a passenger in the southbound vehicle were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The road was closed briefly but is now open.

41-year-old Muhammad Ahmed MEMON of Mississauga has been charged for failing to stop at a red light contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
