CAR DRIVEN INTO POND; NO INJURIES

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) - On Saturday August 12, 2017 at approximately 1:00 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision at Victoria Road South at Maltby Road, east of Guelph. Initial reports indicated that a vehicle had lost control and crashed into a pond.

OPP as well as emergency fire services attended. The driver had escaped the vehicle without injuries however the car was completely submerged. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

Police continue to investigate however do not suspect alcohol was a factor.

The road was closed briefly but is now open.

The Wellington County OPP is asking anyone that may have witnessed this collision to please call 1-888-310-1122.

TWO VEHICLES CAUGHT RACING; DRIVERS CHARGED

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSHLINCH, ON) - On Sunday August 13, 2017 at approximately 4:30 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 32, west of Guelph. The officer observed two cars travelling in the same direction at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit.

A 2015 Mazda 3 was locked on radar at 138 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. A 2011 Infiniti GVS was locked on radar at 141 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

24-year-old Adrian Robin KERR of Guelph has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle (138/80) contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on September 20, 2017.His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

23-year-old Christopher AZZAPARDI of Windsor has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle (141/80) contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on September 20, 2017.His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

RACING CHARGE

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA, ON) - On Sunday August 13, 2017 at approximately 5:30 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 north of Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a 2010 Ford Pick-up travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 149 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

Upon further investigation it was discovered that the driver's licence was under two different suspensions.

42-year-old Marcel L. FORGET of Kitchener has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle and two counts of Driving While Suspended contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on September 20, 2017.His vehicle was seized for a period of seven days as per statute

UNLOCKED SUV STOLEN FROM GARAGE

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) - On Sunday August 13, 2017 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen passenger vehicle from a residence on Aberfoyle Mill Crescent, Aberfoyle.

Suspect(s) entered the unlocked garage and stole a white 2015 GMC Terrain bearing Ontario marker BKET883. The keys for the vehicle were in it when in it was stolen sometime between August 13 and August 14, 2017.

FOUR MEN CHARGED WITH THEFT UNDER $5,000

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - On the morning of Friday August 11, 2017 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft from a business on Thompson Crescent, Erin. Video captured the theft of assorted metal products.

Later that day, the suspects' vehicle was spotted in the area and OPP located and identified the occupants. Upon further investigation four men have been charged with Theft Under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code.

18-year-old Istvan MIGLECZ of Etobicoke, 20-year-old Istvan MOLNAR of Toronto, 29-year-old Attila VANGOR of Toronto, and 30-year-old Ferenc VANGOR of Toronto are scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on September 15, 2017.

TWO DRIVERS INJURED IN CRASH

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) - On August 21, 2017 at approximately 6:20 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Guelph-Eramosa Fire Department along with Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services responded to a collision involving two vehicles on Highway 6, south of Conservation Road, Township of Guelph-Eramosa.

Investigation has revealed that the driver of a southbound motor vehicle turned in front of a northbound motor vehicle. The driver of the southbound vehicle suffered minor injuries while the driver of the northbound vehicle suffered more serious injuries. Both drivers were transported by Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services to a local hospital. Charges are pending.
