DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED AND OTHER OFFENCES AFTER COLLISION

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - On November 15, 2017 at approximately 6:30 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Shamrock Drive in Erin. The caller reported being sideswiped by a northbound motor vehicle. The northbound vehicle attempted to leave but could not due to damage on his vehicle.

Police attended and spoke with the driver and believed him to be impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for testing.

57-year-old Stephen BOYD of Erin has been charged with Impaired Driving, Drive with more than 80 mg/alcohol in blood, Fail to Remain, and Driving while under Suspension.

A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to attend Guelph Court on December 12, 2017.

If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, you can call police at 911 to report it.

IMPAIRED DRIVER CHARGED

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) - On November 17, 2017 at approximately 1:55 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting general patrol on County Road 32, Township of Puslinch. The officer observed a Honda Civic parked on side of the road. The officer stopped to speak with the driver.

While speaking with the driver, the officer believed her to be impaired by alcohol. A roadside screening device was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested for care and control and transported to a local OPP detachment for further testing.

40-year-old Livanga OLDING of Guelph has been charged with Care or Control Over 80 mgs.

A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. She is scheduled to attend Guelph Court on December 15, 2017.
